Balls n All

What a great Sunday of sport we had yesterday ; 12.30pm - 3.30pm; AFL : St. Kilda Vs Geelong

All the hype you could have over two undefeated teams in a record breaking season, with the late change of Geelong's goal sneak Stevie Johnson out, could the Cats kick a winning score against the leagues best defense? The answer? no, no they could not.

Saints bolted out the blocks to a 5 goal lead in the first quarter and Geelong didn't look like touching the ball. Over the next 3 quarters the Cats clawed their way back til the last 8 minutes where they got the scores back to level. 7 minutes of tired footy left the Saints throwing a bomb to the top of the goal square where unlikely hero Gardiner took a screaming pack mark and put it through to ice the game. Saints by 6 points, all heads held high, next match up will be the GF

9.30pm - the early hours of the morning; Wimbledon : Men's Singles Final
Federer Vs Roddick : HISTORY - 20 : 2 in favour of Federer, Federer 14 grand slams, Roddick 1.
Unexpected finalist Andy Roddick had blasted his way past previous winner Lleyton Hewitt and Britain's favourite son Andy Murray to make his way to the pinnacle of the sport. Only to meet his nemisis, could he change the tide?

The match ended up being a serve fest, with Federer hitting more aces then Roddick, but it was an epic. 5/7, 7/6, 7/6, 3/6, 16/14, with Federer breaking Roddick's serve for the first time in 37 of Roddick's service games to take the win and the new record of most grand slam titles by any male in the modern era, surpassing Pete Sampras.

Roddick blew a 6-2 lead in the 2nd set tie-break which would have basically won him the match, including a very makeable high backhand volley to clinch it. He sprayed it, Federer turned the screws and won 6 points in a row to take the set and the momentum.

I also got a 50" TV on Saturday so had the pleasure of watching these two events on it, great success!

Why are you using my birthday present? Testing it so that you don't let me down?

Any chance you can lug it to Melbourne!

I had the pleasure of being in the only pub in Australia with no television during the AFL - BASTARDS!!!!!!!
