No Scrubs

Yesterday was a dark day in my TV Town as it saw the end of the show Scrubs. I knew it was on its last season but ending on episode 18 instead of the usual 24, floored me! The little couch potato in my brain screamed out NOOOOOOOOO, take meeeeeeeeeeeee!.

The episode was like any other finale of a long runner of this calibre. Token appearances from all old cast members, closure of any outstanding issues and all cast members with theirs chins held high walking in the opposite direction of each other as they 'move on' with their lives.

The episode follows JD around Sacred Heart on his last day before taking a job at another hospital. One by one he plays out how HE would like it to go, complete with teary goodbyes and heartfelt sentiments. Everyone else has a different idea however and just rides out the day like any other.

As promised by the director and Neil Flynn we did discover the Janitors name....or did we? He tells JD his name is Glenn Matthews and there is a little speech where he claims no one ever asked him so he never told anyone.....but no more than 5 secs later, another Dr walks past and says "Hey Tommy!".

To close, JD does a final walk down the exit hallway where his imagination has created a people pathway. Some of the faces were his brother Dan, The Todd (with a goodbye five), Nurse Roberts, Tasty Coma Wife (TCW), crazy patient Jill, JD's drug-addict girlfriend Alex, Colonel Doctor, soundtrack performer and occasional on-camera presence Colin Hay, Mrs. Tanner, the first person to die while in JD's care, Snoop Dogg Attending, the Worthless Peons (featuring new member Gooch), Leonard the hook-handed security guard and his elderly-intern squeeze, the Dudemeister, and Hooch who is now wearing a straitjacket (because Hooch is crazy!).

To mark the day Turk and JD agree to hug every time they see each other which seems to some up their bromance quite well. Turk also puts up a huge sign with "Goodbye JD' which covers the whole entrance. Later on in the episode, show creator Bill Lawrence is seen pulling the sign down which is his only known appearance in all 8 seasons.

So what now, start watching it all from scratch? Maybe when we get back after the wedding!

....and yes ok the title is a far fetched play on words with the TLC song from 1999 but cmon, it works!

Soundtrack Of The Day: Bush - 6teen Stone
